Jacuzzi repair San Francisco
Yes, San Francisco has its first baby stroller spa, a place where you can take your banged-up, beaten-down and broken strollers for a tune-up or repair job. Bugaboo’s got a flat tire? They can fix it. McClaren stinky after your kid threw up a strawberry milk shake all over it? They can scrub your stroller down until it sparkles.
“This business model was set up by me so that these moms could successfully build their own business while maintaining a presence in their home with their children, ” Mamikunian says.
San Francisco’s Presidio Heights spa is the first storefront and serves as the flagship. The Sacramento Street location offers an array of services, from thorough cleanings (from $60 to $14o) to rust removal (starts at $10) to flat tire repairs ($12 to $15). They also clean and install car seats.
My first thought was that a spa for strollers is just way too precious, extreme, excessive — kind of the way that I feel about dog spas offering massage therapy. But then I thought about the hand-me-down stroller in our garage. The Bob jogger has good bones, but it’s over 10 years old, filthy and rickety. I was on the fence about whether to actually push our new baby around in it or bring it to the dump where it would be piled atop countless other border-line usable strollers.
I’m bringing that stroller to the stroller spa where Mamikunian’s crew can make it look like new. S.F.’s new stroller spa seems like a great way to keep baby buggies up-and-running so they can be reused, recycled and passed down to the next generation.
Stroller Spa will also save parents some time. It might seem like changing a flat tire on a stroller would be easy to do, but when you consider the time spent on the phone with the company to order the parts, $10 to change a flat seems like a great deal.
